Elastic Empire Waist Dress

I found this great tutorial for these dresses on a crafty blog, and I had make them right away! I love these dresses, but can never find one that's quite modest enough for me. Either they have a tank on top or are way too short for my comfort. These worked out perfectly since I don't trust myself to sew anything involving a bodice. I think it cost me less than $10 to make them both since I found some cute fabric on clearance at Walmart and found the shirts at a thrift store and Target clearance.

I think CuteGirl's turned out perfectly - better than mine. I love the color combination.

CuteGirl loved hers so much it was frightening.

The girl would not pose for a twinner picture with her mom, so I was forced to take drastic measures.

Onesies with Butt Ruffles

I made a couple onesies to send out for my sister-in-law's baby shower this spring.  Baby O* will arrive any day, and she'll be super cute in these.  I used this tutorial and made the bottom two options since I don't have a serger.  I thought I'd love the second one more, but I really liked the first more.  When I find where I have my pictures of them, I'll add them to this post.

Zig Zag Quilt

I made this quilt for my cousin's little boy J*.  I've had it made for a while, but finally delivered it a couple weeks ago to the little rolly polly guy.  I actually started it before I knew he would be arriving using this tutorial but finished it with him in mind.

I machine quilted it with the same colors as the stripes on the front and followed the zig zag.
It's not perfect, but I think it turned out pretty well.

Big Sister Applique T-shirt

It's not the best job of applique ever, but it worked.  I finished it not too long before BusterBoy was born, and CuteGirl was able to wear it to the hospital.  I just found a font I liked in Word and printed off the letters in a big size.  I left the edges of the letters unfinished and then stitched them on, so now they are frayed a bit.  It looks cute, but I don't know how long it will be before they start fraying a bit too much.

Raggy Cowboy Quilt

I made this quilt for my college friend K* who's having a little boy in April.  I loved this fabric when I saw it and wanted to use it for BusterBoy's burp rags.  HandsomeHubby vetoed it.  Hopefully K*'s husband has a nicer opinion of it since it will be in his house.

Homeless Baby Quilt

I made this a year or two ago because I felt the need to quilt one day.  It doesn't have a home, but will one day.

Fairy Princess Tutu

My newest attempt was to make a tutu for Cute Girl out of tulle. I had been looking at Etsy shops to see what I could find and most of the tutus I could find for sale were around $30. So, I tried to find something on Google and ended up using the tutorials on this blog & this blog to make one for Cute Girl. I whipped it out in about 1 1/2 hours while I was watching the new Star Trek - which I love! - with Hunny. I stayed up too late, but I loved the finished product and the much cheaper version that I came up with. I do want to add some blue ribbon around the waist band in a few places along with the pink & green that's already on.
Cute Girl had a photo shoot with me this morning - complete with her Fairy Godmother wand.
